#WakePraySlay (...it's not what you think!)

What if you’re as great as God said you are?
What does God think about what you believe is “so hard” for you to accomplish?
How long have you been waiting to launch because you think people don’t have the money to pay for what you have to offer?
When are you going to stop telling yourself that you don’t have enough time (or you’re too old/young—whatever the lie is!) to get started?
You start your day with the mantra “Wake. Pray. Slay.” You repost it on social media. You have it printed on your favorite coffee mug. Your favorite day planner has the mantra written on it in rose gold letters. It’s your go-to encouragement phrase!
In all of the time you've been waking, praying and slaying, why haven’t you awaken to the fact that God sees more in you and expects more out of you? When are you going to pray for clarity and understanding of who He wanted you to be from the beginning? Why haven’t you slayed the mentality that you’re smaller than the competition, not good enough—or whatever lie you keep believing?
We spend a lot of time believing the lies that Satan convinces us, speaking the things we’ve become convinced of and then we blame God when things don’t come to fruition.
You’re reducing God’s plan for your life with what you think. You’re digging up the seeds of faith that you’ve planted with the words you speak. In your fear, in your insecurity, because of your comparison of yourself with others and your inability to see yourself the way our Father sees you, you’re cancelling out His plan with your thoughts and actions.
I’ve been there; I know how you’re thinking. I’ve taken my own word, my own thoughts, my own perspectives—believing the lies that Satan was telling me—and allowed those to supersede the word of the Lord God who created me! How can I believe my own ideas over His perfect plan for me?
At the end of July, I went on a fast for a week and came off of the fast spending two weeks writing a book. I had no idea that God would posture me to write in this season of my life, but, I wrote, edited and completed the project in two weeks. While I was in the middle of the second chapter of the book, God inspired the second book. I began working on that one on August 12th. As I was writing, Holy Spirit told me that He was giving me the words that would help women of all ages find the definition of who He created them to be.
He was giving me words to help us kill the image that we’ve created ourselves in; because He created us in HIS image!
Selah…
You see, we spend a lot of time “redefining” ourselves throughout life. We spend a lot of time looking at ourselves through the lenses of other people. We often fail to see what God sees in us. We often fail to recognize the greatness He deposited in us. We often forget that He is the Author and the Finisher of our faith and that HIS word over us is the first and last word that matters. How can we dare believe that what we think carries more weight than what God has said about us?
2017 is coming to a close soon, Honey. And I’m going to venture a guess that you’re ready to start living in the fullness of the greatness that God designed you for. Now. Not waiting until 2018—right now!
I’m giving you some homework for the next two weeks as we close out August.
1. Write down the lies you tell yourself on a regular basis. Write down all of the things you’ve become convinced of. Write down all of the things you’ve said to yourself or in conversations with others. Write them. Don’t think about them. Don’t ponder over them. Don’t consider them. Write them. I want you to see what you say.
“Who’s going to want my products…?” (or whatever business/opportunity you are offering)
“What if this doesn’t work…?)
“People don’t have the money to pay for my _________ right now.”
“I don’t have enough support from my inner circle…”
2. Next, write down why you really believe these things.
“I believe people don’t have the money to pay for my _________ right now because my friends and family have told me that my prices are too high. If my friends and family won’t buy from me, no one else will want to either.”
Then, search the scriptures and find out what God has to say about you and what His plan is for you, compared to what you believe.
“God promised me in Deuteronomy 8:18 that He gave me power to get wealth to establish His covenant. He didn’t say that He gave me power to get wealth as long as it comes through my inner circle.”
Lastly, change your confession! This is so vital, because Jesus said that we will only pour out what is already in us. (Luke 6:45) Replace your current confessions, your current beliefs, what you currently agree with, with the word that God has declared over you from before you were ever born!
“My business is growing and will always grow, because my resources are much bigger than just the people I’m already connected to. I will always have clients that will want what I have to offer and they will pay what I am worth!”
Do you see how it works? Understand that this is bigger than just thinking happy thoughts and wishing the devil away. We have to remember that Satan's plan is to steal, kill and destroy and much of that begins in our thought life and then trickles down into the things we speak! Your words have life, right? So you've got to be deliberate in changing your mind and changing your confessions.
Slay the mentality that all you’ll have is what you have. Slay the belief that you’re not good enough. Slay the opinions of other people, especially those that haven’t done anything with their own lives—please! Slay the you that God never intended you to be. Awake to the purpose that lives in you. Pray for God’s anointing and grace to flow through you daily as you pursue your designed life in Him.
I want you to check back in with me and let me know how this exercise helps you.
I’ve got more details about the upcoming release of the book “Stones for Bread”. I’m super excited about it and I’m looking forward to sharing with you very soon—be on the lookout for more details. If you haven’t already done so, sign up for updates and you’ll be the first to know all the info.
